Wanted: Peer Reviewers for Research/EBP abstracts

WE NEED YOU!!!

The 2019 VSPAN Conference Planning Committee is seeking peer reviewers to participate in the review of Research and Evidence Based Practice submissions for the poster session.

Reviewers should have current VSPAN membership, experience with previous abstract submission, and an understanding of research levels of evidence. Experience as an abstract reviewer is recommended but not required. Email Rebecca T. Gilbert by Friday, March 22 if you are interested in being a peer reviewer at rg4w@virginia.edu. Include your qualifications and why you would like to participate in the peer review process.

Submission Deadline

The abstract submission period will open at 9:00 AM EST on Friday, April 8, 2019. Submissions must be received by 11:59 PM EST time on Friday, May 31, 2019. No extensions will be granted.

Submission Format

All abstracts, not to exceed 350 words (exclusive of abstract title and author information), are to be submitted via email to rg4w@virginia.edu and should follow the following criteria:

Research-

• Purpose
• Background
• Methods
• Results
• Implications for translation to practice/further research

Evidence Based Practice-

• Purpose
• Background
• Brief description of the best practice, including the approach, methods, or processes used
• Outcomes achieved
• Conclusion, emphasizing implications for practice and further research if applicable

Abstract Selection and Notification

Peer reviewers will review all abstracts during the month of June 2019 and decision rubrics are to be emailed to Rebecca T. Gilbert at rg4w@virginia.edu by 11:59 PM on Friday, June 28, 2019. Notifications will be sent on Monday, July 8, 2019.
