Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool to join the team. This role will be full-time, Day shift from Monday through Friday, every other weekend, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Critical Care Float Pool team on a full-time basis during day shifts. The Critical Care Float Pool at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus offers a unique opportunity for nurses to work across the Emergency Departments

Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool Job Responsibilities:
- Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships
- Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice
- Supports and empowers patient/families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions
- Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective while providing counsel and acting as a resource to resolve issues
- Anticipates ethical, spiritual and cultural needs of patients and intervenes to maximize patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning
- Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation
- Evaluates the outcomes of documentation and contributes to related performance improvement initiatives
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and leads other disciplines to meet desired outcomes
- Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members
- Demonstrates evidence of self-development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintains own Team Member Continuing Education Record

Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool Additional Requirements:
- Work schedule: 12-hour day shift (Monday – Friday, every other weekend, days, 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.)
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing - If RNs have an Associate’s Degree within 2 years of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1. Identify which school they plan to attend, 2. Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion; 3. Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required prerequisites and timeline for taking the courses, and 4. Complete BSN within 5 years of start date

- Experience: Minimum of two years of ED nursing experience
- Certification: BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
